insulation / flashing tape advice please

Hello,
I'm in the middle of an install - trying to get the sub box looking like it's integrated into the boot, rather than just stuck there. Also trying to find good looking places for the amps to go.
Anyhow, got the sub frame and box sorted on the left of the boot (looking from behind) - can still get the spare out too (one of my aims).
To do this I have obviously removed the boot lining. Now the car is loud and noisy - there is no insulation.
I have heard to use flashing tape on sub installs - but will this soundproof the car too? Or will I need extra insulation? I want it to be refined! Where is the best place for all this stuff?
