Inner tie rod replacement

Discovered the right one is slightly bent. Bought new one (actually bought both tie rod assemblies, i'm a little anal). How easy it is to replace? Does the whole steering box need to be dropped? If so, i'm thinking of doing it when i get my clutch replaced in no more than 10K miles if it lives as long as the first one but if it's an easy job i might go for it now.
The alignment guy said it's not something urgent. I've lived with it for years as it seems

As long as you can release the locknut, it can be done in situ. They normally seize though so it might require a good dosing of releasing spray/heat

You must ensure the adjustment between new and old is the same though - very important.
