Hi all,

The composition media in my 2014 BlueGT is a little unstable, it often reboots when you first start the car and it also forgets the 'turn off screen after x seconds' option between ignition starts.

Does anyone know if there have been any updates from VW? I asked my dealer and their response was to book it in and they'll check, but if there is no update then it's a pointless trip

Mine is the same. I have had my SEL in the dealership this week getting a few niggles sorted out. However, in regards to the Composition Media - I have spoken to VWUK whilst at my dealer and I was told that, Volkswagen are aware of the issue and are currently in the process of working on a fix and firmware update. They said please bare with us and they will get it rectified as soon as they have fixed the coding bugs.

So I guess it's a waiting game for us.

Good stuff, mine was pretty stable until recently, it reboots almost every time I start the engine now.

I had the software update done on the radio at the recent service...whilst it seems a little better it still won't retain the 'Turn off screen' setting and often the front speakers don't sound until 4-5 seconds after the rears when you first start the car. Occasionally it still does a full boot on ignition instead of picking up from where it was before...

Has anyone else seen their issues resolved or is my radio common with these problems?

There sounds like I'm having a few similar problems as you.

I get power on pop from one speaker most times It comes on ( the speaker that pops changes every time)

I also noticed that sometimes the rear speakers operate then the front seem to fade up.

I'm going to phone tomorrow and get it booked in.

Yeah, looks to be exactly the same, I get the same pop sometimes as well.

Mine is the same mate. The rear play and then the front will come in around 5-10s later

Fairy nuff, this wasn't how it was before the update...so whilst it is more stable than before, it still isn't as good as it should be.

took my car to vw today and they did a software update.

now on software version 0138 (was 0137) but not cured the start up pop problem.

what version is everyone else on?

Does it now remember the 'Screen off after 10 seconds' thing? How do we check the version?

not sure as i leave the screen on

menu button then down to system information (should give device number,hardware version,software version and then some codec info)

I'll check, mine was only in a couple of months ago.

Everything Dink highlighted was happening to my media system too. The dealer did a software update about a month ago and it seems to have fixed it.

it seems mine still has problems.

i think the speaker pop and speaker fade is related

i think if it pops the stereo seems to think there is a fault and cuts that set of speakers (front or rear) then fades up once it realises there isn't a problem.

i think VCDS might help out here

i've booked mine in to the dealer again fingers crossed they replace the unit as i think there is a design problem with it

be nice if they could stick an android auto compatible unit in there lol
