Auto lights question

my headlights come on even when the switch is in "off" position, can this be disabled. Im all for auto lights but when they come on everything dims like the stereo display so i have to turn the switch to the "on" position so seems pointless.

Is this not just your daylight running lights? That'll be why your display is brighter when your lights are set to on. My DRL are almost as bright as my dipped beams!

The polo use the headlights as DRL if you don't have xenon's or blue motion

It can easily be turned off via VAGcom.
But I'ts not advisable if you live in a country where daytime running lights are required by law.
