Piano Black Radio and Vent Trim?

Just noticed the GT and GTI have lovely nice gloss black trim around the radio and centre console, can this be ordered from VW? Think it's much nicer then the grey or silver finisher on the SE and SEL spec.
Any body know what part numbers would be and prices?
Thanks

Yes it can.
The only piece you can't get in gloss black as a spare part is the trim around the lightswitch. For that small piece you have to order a complete new dashboard for a GTI/BlueGT.

I actually dislike the gloss finish on my bluegt. To many finger print. Are the grey and silver finishes matt?

I know what he means, though: gloss black looks fab until you actually use it. If I had had the choice, I would probably have gone for brushed aluminium, but the real deal not fake.

I would love real carbonfibre in mine...

But I do love the gloss black and the way it ties in to the gloss black om the radio.

Haha, easier said than done, especially if you regularly have a passenger! I am actually thinking of changing it, anyone have a pic of a matt one?

Since Google seemes to be down where you are I'll give you a hand.

It is from the R WRC model. And the trim around the lightswitch does nok come in that color.

Why not just vinyl wrap which ever bits you don't like? It's dead easy to apply, cheap and there's loads of choice. I put 5p worth of brushed aluminium vinyl around the gearstick on my MX5 and it just lifts the otherwise very black console area nicely.
The so-called 3D wrap is actually very convincing.

Oo that is a good idea. I am notoriously bad at that kind of thing though. It would look dire if I did it!!

Haha why not, ordered some off that link, now to work out how to get the trim off!

There is no substitute for real carbon fibre... The vinyl doesn't come anywhere near the play/depth/look of real carbonfibre.
I have seen some awesome looking matt brushed aluminium vinyls though.

You need a set like this. It's the single most importent set of tools for interior jobs on a new car.

Looks good, ordered some matt black wrap, hopefully ending it cleanly with the silver lining will be easy!

I invested in one of those kits a few years ago - invaluable.
Good call on the vinyl wrap: it's cheap and good fun to fit, and if you don't like it you can just peel it off. I am thinking of completing the roof of my white Blue GT in gloss black wrap to match the sunroof.
