So do one of you very knowledgeable gentleman know if the clusters from a 2014 6C polo will fit a 201 6r polo.

The new clusters are the same as the 6r GTI clusters by the looks of it with the additional temp and fuel dials. The general shape looks exactly the same although the deals seem to be a little more pronounced....hard to see from a pic.

I understand the coding requirements etc etc

I won one on ebay last night as I made a really low best offer which got accepted !

The same fella is selling a few other 6c bits including the new media system.

I would looooove the new instrument cluster which one of the only new things in the 6C i like.

So, following on from my message from Hazzy Days is the statement below true. I thought people had done this upgrade before ?


'Then the Only Other Cluster they offer higher than your One Is the GTI Spec which i don't believe will Work as it Takes its speed signal from the Gear Box Which is different from your One so im afraid you are Pretty Limited'

But... All Polo 6R & 6C take the speed signal from the gearbox...

Quite a few people have put the GTI clusters (and BlueGT, which I think has a different top speed on the dial) into their 1.2 TSIs on here. I think there was also someone who put an Amarok cluster into a 6r TDI?

Ciclo has put a BlueGT speedo in his 6R 1,2 R-line.
There is a guy here in Denmark who has put a Amarok speedo in his 6R 1,6 TDI. (For this to work you need to have the Amarok speedo's software flashed to that of the Polo)

Amarok Speedo in Polo. (The Polo in the MFD gives it away. )

Yep, Hazzy Days are wrong....or they just don't want to do it !

There is no guaranty it will work in your car...

True... Both in any case It won't work just by plugin it in. A new speedo will allways at least need coding to work.

So partner up with someone who knows coding on VW's

Hey folks

Still nothing about this retrofit ? (would be the best one for me).

I found that they aren't plug and play, 6R cluster have 32 pins while the 6C have 18 pins.

Wouldn't exchanging some connector and the 6R BCM by a 6C one make the job ?


I hope that someone give news or we try to start this project, because the 6C cluster is so good looking

It's not possible.
The electronics is not compatible at all. Different platforms, 6C = PQ26, 6R = PQ25.
