Hi All
Looks like I have an issue with the reverse gear switch which I believe is somewhere on the gear box.
Can anyone help with the exact location of the switch and any tips or tricks for sorting it out.
Cheers
Rob

It's located in the gearbox. a piece hits it from inside the gearbox when you put it in reverse.
It's number 5 in this picture. (This is a picture of a Polo 6R gearbox. BUT note that there is a chance yours is not identical. But locations should be prettey much the same.)

It should look something similar to this:

Thanks Martin, so basically it's on top of the gearbox. Wonder if I take the airbox out I'll get a better view.

So, I removed the airbox, this is the view....I suspect the cheeky little switch is under the gear box and not on top.

Just in case anyone wants to know what the issue was and where to find the switch.
I was servicing the car, and just removing the plastic sump guard / skid plate and there infront of my eyes was the reverse switch situated on the lower front of the gearbox. On closer inspection I found that one of the wires had broken off.
A quick bit of solder and extension to both wires and it worked perfectly.
