Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems
And how does the cruise control behave when you drive? BCM coding? ECU coding? Any errors?

Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems
Hi StefanH, pin 56 is correct for your engine.
I think that the CCS in your Ibiza should be activated by SWaP an FeC, please search these definitions online.
Or look how the CCS is activated in your Ibiza 6P which is like a Polo 6C (PQ26) and not a Polo 6R (PQ25).
This thread is only useful for PQ25.
---
Edit ...
Well, now that I have read your user posts I see that you are already well informed.
There are real wizards who can enable your CCS through an online connection but it is necessary that you have a working VAS on the computer that is connected to your car. Preferably VAS 5054.
Confidence/trust in something or someone is something own to each individual, since you comment that some workshops are not reliable (I totally agree with you),
but as Matt Damon says in an advertisement/commercial ... "fortune favours the brave"...
To make it easier to understand, please focus your attention on the video I posted here:

Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems
If I switch it on, it displays a Cruise Control symbol in the display with an exclamation mark. That's all.
But in my opinion this is a small hint, that Cruise Control is enabled. This didn't happened, before I went to the official Seat Workshop.
So I assume, they enabled it, but since there is still something wrong, it won't work. But just a small guess.
Okay, I will tank my time in the evening to follow your video. Thank yo already for reading my entire post

Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems
In that case, it may just be a little coding or adaptation problem, units and components must know what to do.
With the VCDS you can do a complete reading of all the adaptations/codings of your car at once.
Auto-scan and, Applictations --> Controller Channel Map ---> Whole Vehicle + Adaptations + CSV. file ---> Go. The files will be generated in the logs folder of the VCDS program. They can be opened with Excel.
You would only have to compare with those of another car with the same conditions (the same CCS you installed) in the units/components involved (01, 09, 19, ...).
winmerge is a good program to do this quickly and easily.

Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems
I would let someone program my car, if this is, how I get my CC to work, but I don't have a suited VAS.
Is there someone, how can borrow it in Germany? Preferred some where around Nürnberg?
I checked today also the separated readings for clutch and break signals. Both working fine, so it looks like just the information missing for the GRA.
Since it was already dark outside today, I didn't checked the pin on the ECU, but I will check it in the next few days.
This is my reading: Has someone a similar car with similar settings?

Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems
Your Ibiza is well coded for CCS, both the engine unit and the BCM, and in the event that the CCS installation is correct, I'm afraid you need to buy the activation code and then activate it with the right tools.
Perhaps your SEAT dealer just checked that the coding is correct. Did you pay for the activation code at your SEAT dealer?
Nowadays it is no longer necessary to travel anywhere, with online connection, Team Viewer (eg), and sharing the USB port of the diagnostic tool (VAS), everything can be done remotely at home, as indicated in the Passat video.
That is, someone in the Antarctic with the right tools, or a neighbor 100m from your house with the right tools, can activate your CCS in no time.

Waiting for some comment from Michel.
You must confess that Super Lewis was also great at the Brazilian GP last weekend. The Mercedes team is fantastic!

I never fell so excited during an F1 race, apart from perhaps Canada 2011.
Absolutely amazing.

Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems
Thanks again for all your replies.
I checked today the cable to the ECU.
When I installed the cable, in T94/56 already a white wire was installed. It looked like, the cable was already there, so I didn't had to bring it there. But anyway, because I had installed it already into the engine compartment, I decided to use the wire I newly installed, because I didn't know, where the original white wire ended.
Today I removed my new installed cable and replaced it by the old one, but after that, the sign of the cruise control with the exclamation mark didn't show up at all, but the EPC light was still on. So I concluded, if I remove the new installed wire, it works even less.
So I installed my new wire again and the CC sign showed up again.
I think, I can conclude, that all wires are connected correctly. Since ciclo checked my coding, I assume this should be also okay.
The last point then is, that I need an activation.
It is already few month ago, that I went to the SEAT dealer. He mentioned, he tried everything, and cannot get it to run. I ask him for an activation and he told me, that there is no activation code for this Ibiza, because there is no possibility to upgrade the cruise control on this car. It can only be included in factory.
But I had contact with Wibutec, where I bought the cable, and they told me, they can program it, even remotly, but I would need an official VCDS from a dealer otherwise the dealer ID would be 0000 and the ECU would not accept the coding. But all dealers I know have no or no official VCDS.
So it is really annoying. Why VW makes it so difficult?
So, I'm going to search for someone, who can help me removing the activation.

Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems
But is that true what you are being told by workshops, VCDS operates in "stealth mode" so does not leave a workshop ID, I've programmed a few things on VW, Audi and SEAT, which required enabling functions via adaption - successfully, so does this mean that VCDS can not be used on newer VW Group models - I don't think so.
Edit:- I have always suspected that if I took any of the VW Group cars that I have owned to a dealership, I would have been told the same story - most of them just do not understand changing coding.
For instance, I personally imported a new 2000 VW Passat 4Motion from Intercar in Holland, when I discovered during the first winter, that the windscreen low fluid warning was not enabled and the same for the brake pad wear sensors, I asked at my local VW dealership's service department in Edinburgh about them changing the settings for me - I was eventually told that I had bought a car built using German parts and if I wanted them to sort this out for me, I would have to pay for them to buy in a new instrument panel ready programmed to VW UK settings/options and that would cost almost £1000 - "the price you pay for importing your car!".
So, I bought VCDS and made these changes very quickly - liars and idiots, but I still buy my spares from them, the parts department treat me like a customer, which was exactly the same for Intercar and the VW dealer I bought my wife's 2002 Polo from new in Holland - VW Group sales people in UK really don't try to sell us cars, they think, or did back then that the car sells itself and we just pay up at the price that they want us to - wrong!

StefanH, please check your inbox.
There you will find my answer to your PM.
On the other hand, I forgot to tell you that in the Passat Video description you also have the e-mail address of the miracle guy ... I only comment on the fact that you are both German and I suppose that the communication between you will be more fluid.

If you can't post an Autoscan (not allowed until you have 10 posts), upload it to a server and post the link here.
Imagination is power, especially in complicated situations...
We need the data from the most recent/fresh autoscan you have when performing this update. In the form of text (as it is generated), it facilitates our verifications about what is happening...
