BlueGT Tickover

Has anyone noticed a variation of the tickover speed with the BlueGT ( or any other Polo ) ? Mine seems to be one of two distinct speeds. Half the time it will be 1000 rpm whilst the rest of the time it will drop to around 700 rpm.
Has anyone else noticed anything similar.
Advice from the dealer was to 'watch it'. Well, I was doing and still am.

My tickover is stable, but I have had cars in the past that wobble a bit. Usually due to electrical things kicking in, like A/C, heated seats, etc.

Yes, approx. 700rpm. Mine is a manual, though; maybe DSG is different??

Mine will be 700 one day and 1000 another. I can find to reason as I cannot affect it by switching electrical loads on / off or by driving methods. Most strange.

My Blue GT is the same, and like yourself not a clue why.

Mine is also 700rpm, but I also have a manual. I may be getting a dsg for 24 hours tomorrow whilst mine is in, if so i will let you know.

I believe that if the onboard diagnostics detect a low battery voltage (eg by the battery being partially discharged or having an increased electrical load), the tickover is speeded up to give the battery an extra boost.

^this is the answer. My car does it occasionally when the battery state of charge is low (VCDS tweak to show this)

Old 1.2 TSi did this frequently would sit at 900rpm and then drop to 600rpm when it was warmed up. New one doesn't seem to do it

Normally it does that only when you star-up the car... It's to recirculate the oil faster, and some times when it's too hot or too cold, it will be in higher rpm's to...
Any car does this...
