Polo 6N2 GTI boot microswitch

Hi there
Usual Polo 6N2 boot light microswitch problem…
Can anyone tell me whether both parts of the switch are needed to rectify, please?
Vacate says that 6X0947569 is boot switch, and 1J6953230A is switch and wiring…
