As xenons are old hat now ( ) and the 6C Blue GT, for some inexplicable reason, is not available with the full LED headlights, I am stuck with 1970s technology halogens.
I went out for the first time in the dark and found them pretty underwhelming, especially on main beam. My Transit Custom van, which admittedly does have xenons, gives way better light.
The LED lights are immensely cool and they are starting to appear for sale online. Has anyone dared to do this mod?
Anyone tried a full LED headlight conversion?

Where have you seen them online? Link? I think this would be a great project for a forum great to assist with haha. They look cool and way more stylish and practical over halogens as you said..

I shoved Osram Nightbreakers into mine on delivery and have been pretty impressed by the headlights. Though my previous car had Xenon dips, they were old and I suspect not at their best.
I'd try uprating the dip and main bulbs first, as that is £30 .

Sort of related.
I'm looking forward to having them on the GTI after having xenons.
What I don't understand with VW is when the lights at the front are full LED why do they keep the indicator lights as bog standard bulbs and not LED ?? Doesn't make sense.

I was hoping they would make som cool LED taillights like on the Golf and Passat. But sadly no. Don't like the aftermarket option. OEM FTW.

I've seen the LED headlights on German ebay, but there aren't any at the moment.
I agree with the boggo orange indicator bulbs - they have to go! VW could at least have put Silvervisions in. Best of all would be these new scrolling indicators like on the new Mondeo

I'd be interested in retro fitting a pair of the LED lights to my GTI.
I already have the Xenons, so have self levelling and headlight washing, but I wonder if the 6R systems are the same?
I'd like to think it was 'plug and play', but I doubt it!

I think the mest chance of getting them to work is on a car wired for Bi-Xenons...

Especially as it'll already have the washers and automatic levelling in place.
Those cool LED indicators on that Mondeo are like the ones on the A8.
