SEL lower grill chrome removal

Does anyone know how or if it is possible to remove the chrome trim on the SEL lower grill I'd be interested in 'respraying' it red properly as it's just not lasting as well the current way (getting hit with a grit spreader didn't help either)

I took mine off and wrapped it red, it just clips off from behind.

I settled on this though :/
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Grilles- ... 43282.html and it's plastic so should take it better in winter (bit late I know haha) and I should be able to get away with the number plate piece since it so low.

never heard that one before... But I like it.

I'd have to agree with Martin, I think the red looks ott
But if u like it I guess that's all that matters

I've had a few people say it looks well haha, I think it just works well with the not so gti grill

really need to sort that out haha
