Hi there guys, I'm looking to upgrade my bog standard pole aerial to the genuine official glossy black OEM VW aerial that you see on some of the higher spec polo's.

But i need a bit of help ...

First of all does anybody know where i get the aerial from and the required parts

and secondly has anybody done this before and can give me instructions on how to do it!

Any help is greatly appreciated

thanks. :D

If you want the shark fin I hop you don't listen to the radio in you car. Because the Sharkfin is a GPS antenna. So you wil loose your radio signal.

Search for my my car thread

"Meister's Black GTI 5Dr - The Git"

I purchased one from ebay. You unscrew the stock antenna and screw this on in then it sticks over the top.
5 min job and completely reversible cost about a tenner and reception is fine DAB & FM

i also did this mod

i only had a single antenna radio which made life a bit easer (oem was delivered with rcd210)

i made an antenna in the rear window.

optionally you could fit an oem 'wurm-antenna' in the a-pillar to maintain the diversity radio reception

hmmm so confused still, i didn't think it would be this much trouble as i was told the aerial is just for show and doesn't actually carry signal

Thanks
