Had it a few weeks now so thought I'd post a few of my thoughts that are all up for discussion.

First up, as seen on another thread, paddle shifts cost £250 to replace and there aren't any in stock at the moment.

I could do without the arm rest as it just gets in the way and I'm sure I'll be turning the start - stop off for some journeys in traffic as its a little keen IMO.

I do have trouble with a reflection from the light switch at night which is bang in line with my door mirror and makes visibility tricky for me..

Mirror link works with my HTC m8 but only when stationary (not a fault just the way it is)

Love the engine and enjoying the DSG more than I thought I would (using the gear shift at the moment) and excellent for country lane blasts. Nippy little car and, whilst not the quickest I have ever owned it picks up speed quite rapidly.

mpg is good with different styles of driving and really loving the ACC for motorway and dual roads.

Great little car and better than 2014 merc diesel a class that I had before .

I noticed this a while back and thought it was just me. The reflection is right on my door mirror and somewhat distracting at times. My wifes 1.2TSI SE has the same issue. Just down to the size of the car and the switch placement unfortunately. Glad to hear you like the car though!

I'm kind of glad it's not just me - I like to share my pain, lol. Don't think there is a solution that I can see.

New paddle shift arrived at VW today, booked in for Thursday.

Ok, here's an interesting one - bought a car park ticket today and put on dash. Opened door and breeze blew it to front of dash area and glass.

There's a small gap there just big enough for the slip of paper and nothing else, it takes a while to get out !

Note to self : don't do this again.

When i had my windscreen replaced last time, there was about 30 parking tickets and bits of paper stuck in the gap you mention....makes you wonder why they dont put a felt strip or a rubber guard in there

I can well believe it as it nearly disappeared out of sight. I had to shape another piece of paper like a hook and drag it to the end and out.

Plenty of swearing, I would have given up much quicker had I got any more change for the machine, but I hadn't lol.

Go to Maplin and buy a silicon rubber 'sticky' dash pad, cheap as chips and it makes sure that parking tickets etc stay where you put them.

Must say the service from VW was exceptional from start to finish. They phoned when they promised and made the whole process less painful. I do wish they'd learn how to wash a car properly though lol.

I've had three cars from my local VW (Lookers Preston) in 2 years, 2 for me one for my wife. They've always been fantastic from start to finish, but they have the same problem. They are unable to wash cars properly. Think it might be because they only get £6-7 per car so they do them as fast as possible. I just ask them to hoover mine these days as I wash mine at work most weeks
