I'm considering a larger intercooler on my GTI, just wondering if anyone else has fitted a bigger intercooler and what you would reccomend.
Found this on awesome GTI but is it just cheap and rubbish or worth every penny?

Also what sort of gaibs would I get from an intercooler
Cheers in advance

I am using the Forge one and its factory mounting brackets for the radiator is retained. Plug and play no modification needed. Works really well and te car just keep pulling without any noticable power drop like before. The rest needs modification, new silicon hoses and the extras paid to get the materials and labour charge might as well get a direct fit from Forge, I am sure someone else is selling cheaper than Awesome now. I got it before the price went up.
Another option is from a German tuner HG Motorsports. Looks similar to Forge but better quality(made in germany) and same price as Forge? Look at HG's video below and see the nicely done OEM style brackets on left and right pipings that will save you from alot of headaches as a street going car.

Brilliant thanks! The lads who did my exhaust do custom intercooler pipework so i was going to ask them if they could get one and customize it but looking at it, probably easier and cheaper to just buy a forge one

I've got a forge intercooler sitting in my shed, just need a spare day to fit it now!
I looked at a lot of options before choosing the forge, but decided the OEM look and ease of fitting were worth a few extra quid.
The forge website states +10bhp across the range for a standard car, but more on a mapped one.
You've then got to fear your DSG clutch packs though, mine have just been replaced at 56000 miles, the last 20000 of those with a tuning box fitted.
I think I'll fit the intercooler and remove the box now to be honest.
