BlueGT/GTI - what fuel do you use and MPG?

I'm loving the MPG on the bluegt...
First tank I got 390 on normal esso unleaded
2nd tank I got 420 on esso supreme (would have got more but for town driving)
3rd tank I've put in v-power
Just wondered What fuel do others use and their MPG/full tank mileage?
I drive around 180 miles a week for work, on way to work I get between 50-60MPG, return is 40-50...

As with my 9n3 I'll only be putting v-power in it.
Fuel economy 260 out of my first tank and if it stays like that I'm happy.

Brand new 5dr GTI with just over 500 miles, is averaging 32.8 mpg as a mix of town and M-way.
Get about 43 from a mostly motorway run with some local stuff when driving around 80. Around town in the high 20's.
Literally just filled up and with a very light touch, using the auto-start and keeping to the limits around town I've just returned close to 38 mpg.
However I can get it to low 20's without much effort...
One thing which is worth noting is how quickly it warms up thanks to the revised thermostat design - very impressive - which helps keep the mpg up over short runs from cold.
Overall I have to say that the mpg is better than I dared hope, but I bought it to enjoy and the fun to be had every time I get in it is immense.
My only regrets are that the stereo is pretty rubbish and that I haven't had one in my life earlier...

@Penarth is yours DSG or manual?
@dink is that booting it everywhere as I've got that outta half tank almost in the blueGT (yes it's better on fuel but drinks it just as quick If you boot it)

Tom - mine's the manual. Just put 38 litres in for 300 miles. So about 35.6 mpg on the second tank. Almost exactly half of this is M-way, the rest around town and short trips.

I suppose that's pretty good for a GTI considering my 1.4 corsa got the same with 90BHP vs 190 lol!
I'm hoping I can hit 450-500 Miles soon as the long term MPG is 45.2 already

No not booting it every where but not hanging about either.
Tbh I couldn't give a rats ass about fuel economy lol I bought the car to enjoy it and put fuel in when it needs it

Agreed. Can't really see the point of buying an expensive, powerful GT/GTI and then worrying about saving fuel. I like the fact that I average about 45-47mpg, but if it was 25-27 I'd still use the car just as much.

I bought the car for both as if you drive it properly (not slow) you get good MPG, hence why it has the bluemotion on it in the first place..
Says 400 left after driving 80 miles so hopefully it'll hit 450 at least this time
