Cigarette lighter socket

I want to remove the cigarette or 12 volt lighter socket to accesses the wires what's the best way to do this? Thanks

This is why I was asking I want to do the same. I have the 12v to 5v lead http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Micro-USB-Car ... 1323967248 just need a 12v source but I only want power when ignition is on.deltalimamike wrote:Sorry to jump in - is there an easier 12v source somewhere.
