VW Polo 6n2 mis Fire

Hello, Sorry to both you but my son has a 6n2 which as developed a new error code - 16684 engine mis fire any cyl and then 16685 - mis fire cyl1 and 16686 - mis fire cyl 2. We have just changed the EGR as the error codes were always on with this fault but he has only done aprox 150miles since and now we have these new error codes. Please could any one help with a possible cause and even better a remedy thanks so much
