evening all, I'm in the market for some lowering springs for my 1.2 6r and have narrowed it down to either h+r or apex springs in the 25/40 front/rear variety, has anyone any experience of either brand ? Ride quality etc

both are going to suck unless you change the shock absorbers

The shocks will be getting changed next, it's springs I'm interested in at the minute though, thanks for the concern

i had a set of H+R on my previous Polo (on the current a set from Eibach) and it was ok. a bit stiffer than the OEM suspension. sporty but comfy.

I'm going for eibach. After reading and getting advise from here seem best option and seem to work ok with standard dampers. Still tempted with the extra low H&R but I still want some comfort

I would go for the Eibach aswell. Much more comfortable than the alternatives.

Love my Eibach 25/30mm not that low, but you can definitely tell on the front! bit bouncy with standard shocks but very very comfy

It's mostly the rear height that concerns me, looks like it's been jacked up ? Lol 25/40 is the route I will take, still looking at alternatives, found some direnza on the bay for only 80 quid but I think it may be a case of getting what you pay for, they will either sag and become spongy and like jelly or be like that from the off, looks like eibach or h+r now

If you want to go really low but don't want coilovers do the 35/55mm springs by H&R

This is my Polo 1.4 86ps with Eibach springs (-25/-30mm) and standard shocks:

IMO they are comfortable as well as a factory springs

With 35/55 the ride is truly horrible

Can't make my mind up if that still looks too high at the back on eibachs

Have you concidered coilovers?
I'm running Eibach Pro-Street S. And they are actually pretty comfortable.

35/55 is too low for me, and coilovers too much money, think I'll stick with 25/40 for now
