Few problems straight out the show room :( (bluegt)

Just picked up my bluegt today and it drives perfect and I love it!

Sadly had two problems and will be taking it into back to the dealer tomorrow and hopefully they will be easy to repair but was wondering if anyone else has had the same?

1. The oil temp gauge on the dial goes straight up to 90°C and doesn't change at all. I have been using the temp on the trip computer which seems to be working fine.
2. The time on the clock keeps on changing. Set it 2 or 3 times today and it keeps on jumping to random hours but the minutes stay correct.
Just interested if anyone has had similar problems and if they were easily fixed.
The car is brand new so should be fixed under warranty!

1. That's the coolant temp. gauge if you are referring to this one:

90'C is the optimum operating temperature of the coolant - no issues there.

2. Do check the fuse. Being a brand new car, I wouldn't suspect a bad harness or component, but do check the fuse.

Thanks for your quick reply!

That's good that I don't need to worry about that gauge! Hahah!

What fuse do you think it would be that would affect the clock? Because everything else is working, it just seems to randomly change the hour...

If it makes you feel any better Jonny, my 7 month old Blue GT has been in two times for faulty windscreens and is now in for a 4th time with a cruise control problem. I've driven my actual car for 15 minutes in the last two weeks and it broke again the minute I used the cruise. At least they've given me a Blue GT courtesy car, though that has a knackered gearbox and a loose connection on the front right headlamp.

For the clock do you have Summer DST ticked and GMT+0?

No idea how the clock updates but may be defaulting wrong?

Hi all. Have been visiting this site and have found comments really helpful - bought a BlueGT about 3 weeks ago, partly after reading reviews on here.

Anyway, hope to return the favour in a small way. My car also has the clock problem - minutes keep time, but hour jumps ahead seemingly randomly, until the date has also gone ahead. It has been back to the dealer a number of times, and they have consulted with VW down in England. After various software updates and resets, and a new dash module, the problem is still there. One thing they did notice is that it only occurs when Daylight Saving Time is ticked, so a workaround is to set the hour manually, but leave it in winter time.

The dealer has now told me that a couple of other cars, including a Golf, have come in to them with the same problem. And VW England are aware of it as well. Apparently it will need a software fix, which is awaited.

Thanks again for a superb forum.
