Looking into possibly fitted a rear view camera to the Wife's Polo 6R Blue GT (the one that's integrated into the boot handle).

Has anyone done this and is it pretty straight forward (is there a DIY somewhere ?) . As I understand it, I need to purchase a metal mounting shim that goes inside the boot lid ? Are these readily available, if so from where please ?

Any idea of the sort of price and where I would get a kit containing everything from please ?

Yes, there are people who have done it. My previous and current Polo have it. ciclo did it and made a fairly extensive guide:

You indeed need an adapter plate, carsystems.pl sells one for about 35 euros. i might have the autocad file but i'm not sure.

Be aware, this is the instructions for the 6R. If your BlueGT is a 6C, it might be very different since the 6C has very different in car entertainment system and digital electronics.

The works fit camera on my BGT is mounted by the rear number plate. Not so sexy as the under badge fitting but a lot easier and probably cheaper.
