Thinking of changing and was was wondering about power difference between the three

1.4 85 BHP N/A Match

1.2 TSI R-line 90bhp

1.0 TSI R-line 110BHP

uh, repsectively 5 and 25 hp?

We've (my wife and I) got a 2010 1.4l (86hp) 6R highline and a 2013 1.2TSI (90hp original)
The 1.4 has a typical N.A. feeling, Can't put in in words but it feels okay, but not special, good enough for a daily use.
Our 1.2TSI feels more alive, specialy when the turbo kicks in its fun to drive, even first when it was not chiptuned
Now with about 130hp it's even more fun to drive

Edit:- I only have experience of the older 1.4 16V 75PS and 1.4 16V 85PS and 1.2TSI 16V 110PS - so far, I have been a bit wary of the new 1.0TSI 3 cylinder due to VAG being too quick to bring new products to market, in fact I deliberately got the order in for the 1.2TSI before the orders closed and VW changed to the 1.0TSI.

It might depend on age, the 1.4 16V 85PS should not be available new, but is reliable, the 1.2TSI 8V 90PS is probably not so reliable as the later 1.2TSI 16V 90PS, the reliability of the 1.0TSI 110PS is unknown.

Some additional comments are:- 1.4 N/A has higher road tax due to higher exhaust emissions and a 5 speed gearbox, 1.2TSI 16V 90PS will have 5 speed gearbox, you have missed out the 1.2TSI 16V 110PS which will have a 6 speed gearbox, the 1.0TSI 110 will have lower emissions and a 6 speed gearbox - assuming that you are getting a man-tran.

Edit:- back in April 2015 when I was placing the order for wife's new Polo 1.2 SEL, the salesman had just received details of the 2016MY changes and they included the return of the R model, but this time it was to be a much improved spec to make it more like a true "R" model and not a "R series" - I was not blown away by the new spec - I could not quite see any significant improvements to the previous "R" spec, so stuck with SEL spec for wife's new car.

If it was a true R I think it would do very well haha, 250 bhp maybe in the polo with four exhausts sign me right up haha

There were talks of a Polo R - 250bhp, AWD.. Be awesome!

But VW have since dropped the idea.
