Hi, 2 weeks ago I collected my new gti. It was a pre spec car and but didn't have parking sensors. I asked the dealer to add parking sensors which cost me £250. After having the car a few days I realised the sensors were poor and unlike my 2013 polo didn't have the display on the screen showing the distance between objects. Has anyone else found these sensors to be poor or is it just me? I think I'll be contacting the dealer tomorrow to see what they can do

Re: New gti rear parking sensors
I have a 2013 polo 1.4 petrol comfortline and my sensors are pretty good just like normally i think. I swapped out the 210 radio for an old sony one so i could use aux.Mikeyander5on wrote:Hi, 2 weeks ago I collected my new gti. It was a pre spec car and but didn't have parking sensors. Re: New gti rear parking sensors
I think they're fine, ive got them factory fitted with the rear camera so not sure if its the same system? The front and rear sensors are fine, and I get the image on screen of the car and orange/red indicators to show where obstacles are.
Do you just get the beeps and no image?

I have factory fitted sensors without the parking camera and there is visualisation on the screen. It seems the ones they retrofitted are some cheap knock offs.

Re: RE: Re: New gti rear parking sensors
Thanks as long as I know they can put the visualisation on, it isn't fair that they try and get away by putting cheap sensors on. My 2013 polo had the visuals so was a little strange that my new car didn't. I'm going to ring up tomorrow to try get the better sensorsm0rrthal wrote:I have factory fitted sensors without the parking camera and there is visualisation on the screen. Re: New gti rear parking sensors
Congrats on your new GTI...
Just so you know they do install cheap sensors which probably cost them £20 on eBay when you chose to retrofit them.
My 2014 6C SEL came with front and rear parking sensors from the factory (known as Park Distance Control as it has the display on the stereo). My sister has just purchased a new 6C SE TDI and the salesman made a point of the car being installed with the £250 rear sensors which made an audible sound only although they look very cheap and stick out of the bumper unlike on my car where the sensors are flush.

Re: RE: Re: New gti rear parking sensors
Thanks, you have made a good pint there when I have gone and looked my 2013 1.2tsi Match edition had the sensors from the factory and they are flush with the bumper however on my gti they do stick out like you say I'm going to bring that up with the dealer and as well as the image on the screen not coming up and see what they can do for me. When there charging money like that I expect the image on my screen.jammydodger wrote:Congrats on your new GTI...
