noise from steering when driving.

Hi all, I have just purchased a 97 polo auto and its recently started making a shuffling sound and its coming from the steering wheel any ideas whats up?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi alex, its does it on the move mainly when turning.

I had a similar noise , turns out to be servo steering oil was almost empty :lol:
