replacing stereo

I've got a 6R Rline on a 63 plate. It came with the standard DAB radio stereo system and a bury bluetooth device. I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 phone which won't stay connected and won't play media. I asked vw who tell me the bury is discontinued so can't update.
I bought a new stereo the problem is the FM/AM anolog radio doesn't pick anything up.
My question is should anolog work on what was originally a DAB ariel?
