Now my GTi is in the country I need to decide on service plans.

The VW quote system reckons on £12 a month for all servicing and tyres over 20000 miles and two years.

£288 for two years or 20,000 miles of servicing. That seems good value. Does anyone have this for their GTi? Is that cheap in reality?

I got a 2 year or 20,000 mile service plan for £149 which I'm gonna pay when I eventually get the car.

I got the tyre repair thing built into my PCP deal which looking back I prob should have checked the cost of, but I was trying to keep up front payments to a minimum as paid a £1000 deposit and that was all I wanted to do up front.

I think that deal is a good one you been offered.

That's really good value. Hopefully I'll get a decent quote when I go to the dealership.

I've got 4 years servicing and first years MOT for £21 a month including any top ups, bulb replacements and puncture repairs

I got 2 years serving for £149

Tempting to go for the two year service plan but take the cost of tyres as I don't want Bridgestones once I wear these out.

Sod the tyre plan, I'll be throwing some Pilot Sport Cup 2s on mine, probably won't even wait for the Bridgestones to wear out...

So I'm getting mine through yes-lease.. could I still walk into VW when the car turns up and get a 2 year service plan?

Also are the bridgestones really that bad? I previously had Federal RSR's on my Clio and they were insanely good in dry weather

I got the 2 year £149 plan as well, but I managed to get the dealer to pay half of it as a final convincer for me to sign

On the original alloys? Didn't think they did them in the size needed

You don't have to have the exact tyre the profile 65 can be 60 for example and the speedo would just be slightly out.

That said. Your lease may not allow it and it can be counted as a modification.

I've got the £149 2 year servicing plan as well. With regards to extras, I went for the Alloy insurance for £100-150 can't exactly remember which came in useful before Christmas after I had to swerve a lorry heading towards me on my side of the road.

Didn't go for the tyre plan for a similar reason to most I'd imagine - don't get on with the Bridgestones.

I got the two years service for £149 as well or was it three? Can't remember
