Thought i'd try and start the ball rolling!

Saw one ages ago, whether your in the 'clever marketing exercise' or 'new model' camp theres quite a few features that you gain from buying one.

Things I've noticed...

* Chrome ringed dials (forgot how much I missed having those! )

* Map pockets on the rear of the front seats

* Roof Rails (not important really, but i've already heard of these being fitted to 9n's on www.polo9n.com. Polo Avant anyone? )

* Nets/mobile phone holder on the inner sides of the front seats. (also standard on the Polo GT, but they are not 'netted')

* Tyre Compressor kit in leiu of full size Spare wheel

* Rear courtesy light (though by past experience it seems Spain fit them as and when they can be bothered! )

* Raven Blue (??) Lovely colour!

and possibly

* Extra cubby compartment stored in the boot floor (this was recently added onto ETKA parts catalogue, but i've yet to see one on a UK model)

Has anyone noticed anything else?

see the lifted suspension, how much extra height does it gain?

those 17s suit the car well.


rear courtesy light? ive got that, does the Fun come in 3dr form?

You also get electric rear windows and the MP3 player, so the list is growing.

MP3 player? cool! i thot it was just a normal CD player!

The MP3 stereo is basically a rebadged Becker Monza. However, it is perfectly colour coded to dashlights. However, you cannot spec the indash six disc changer with it.

Who needs a cd changer when you can cram several albums worth of mp3s onto a single cd.

Nope, not that. Thats the compressor kit

This cubby is stored into the boot lining rather than the spare wheel well and is collapsable (sp?)

I'd be very interested if anyone could source a picture of this mysterious compartment.

I only have a 'printed' illustration from ETKA...

No way!!

You can get those folding crates for £1.99 from Staples, Homebase, B&Q, etc. In fact, I've had a couple (you can fit two in lengthways with a six inch gap up the middle) in my boot since I got the Polo. If you open out one of the "segments" in the long crate sides at either end, and thread a bungie cord through, you can even fix them against the existing load securing hooks to stop them sliding about!!

I'm amazed that's all it is!! OK, so it looks like it comes with a boot floor panel with a inset hollow to put it in (part 18 in your figure above), but "astonished" is the word!

(I wonder how much VW charge...)
