Spring creak from clutch pedal

On occasion, when I depress my clutch pedal.. I get a creak from what sounds like a spring.

And when I lift the clutch up, the same creak.

Any solutions to stop this?!
Im guessing if it is a spring, just a bit of grease will do right?!

Thanks!

I think that the pedal pivots need lubricating, I'm assuming that the pedal pivot shafts run in a plastic bush/bearing and should not need any lubrication, but my early 2011 Audi S4 had that problem and the dealer workshop sprayed some lubricant on it and it has been okay for a couple of years now. What age is your Polo, I've forgotten if my wife's August Polo had that problem when new, it seems okay now with no dealer action.
