Hi guys, I have a 2011 polo 1.2S and I was wondering if it is a simple job to swap the stereo that is in the polo now (http://www.vwclubcroatia.com/forum/inde ... nal-radio/) for the stereo from the upgraded model (http://www.motor-talk.de/bilder/vw-polo ... 51450.html) any advice guys would be great thanks.

I don't think the MIB 1 stereo unit in the 6C Polo can be retrofitted to earlier Polo's & no other stereo can be fitted in the 6C.However dont take my word for it,someone may come up with a way round it.

None of those are from the 6C... They are the cheapest stereo's for the 6R. Just from two different markets.

RCD510 or RNS510 is the answer

I have RNS510, too. IMO it is great ;)

In VCDS you can choose one of three themes:

Or if you want Bluetooth and nav for not too much money, you can get certain versions of the RNS315 which already have Bluetooth in the unit. Add a microphone, do some coding, and you've got everything for a reasonable price, but still OEM style unlike some of the more, erm, gaudy aftermarket options.

Thanks for the replies guys. For the RNS315 is the swap over a simple job or would I need any additional wiring harnesses etc?

If you have RCD210 you don't have OEM Antenna rear window glass heated with antenna, so you need special adapter for antenna. I think it is something like this:

Connectors
One end: Fakra Jack double "B"right angle
Other end: Fakra plug "Z" straight

I found this one ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Radio-RCN210- ... SwBLlVL~mW) Does anyone know if this is any good? Im really just looking for at least an AUX in but dont want a aftermarket stereo. Would the RNS 310 be significantly better than the above?

Rcn210 isn't much different to what you have now

Rcd510 is the cheapest option for a big improvement

Those Chinese VW units won't have RDS like EU market ones do. RDS is what does things like telling you the station.

Also, you can get one with Bluetooth for barely any more, if you do go down the Chinese VW stuff route.
