Hi guys, ive just got a standard headunit for my polo off ebay, came with code etc, ive plugged it in, a red led is flashing on the front...

question is how do you turn it on etc...ive tried holding the volume buttons down the volume etc

sounds daft, i dunno how you turn it on,.. to even enter the code...

Check the fuse - its quite possibly blown.

pressing the left knob it wont turn on

the fuse is ok..

ive tried holding down all the buttons now, still wont turn on..

the red light flashes on the front untill you turn the ign key it then goes off, been trying for about an hour, wont come on....hmmmm

I think this is to do with there being no K-line feed on the 6n polo. I'm not even sure if there's a way around it

k line feed? is cos i dont have a cd player bit or something...

It's the predecessor to canbus. The radio communicates with the ECU on more modern Polos and checks in

after a lot of searching it looks like i need to loop a power wire to another pin to make it work..

fixed now, had to join the power pin to the one next to it, as my polo had no wiring in the connector for it..

works now, yes the volume button turns it on and off..
