6c headlights onto 6r ?
6c headlights onto 6r ?
Just curious, does anyone know if the standard halogen 6c headlights will fit my standard 1.2 6r ? I have damaged a clip inside mine but I Can get a 6c pair on the cheap but don't want to waste time and money I am hoping they are simply plug and play but suspect it may be more complicated ? Anyone ?
Re: 6c headlights onto 6r ?

We're the original blue gt light the single h4 units ? Large indicator above the small sidelight bulb ?

No H7 units. Only the trendline has H4
Re: 6c headlights onto 6r ?
Mine has h4 units at present ? Very basic, can I swap them as above ?

Yes but it's not plug and play. You will need to make some modifications to make the high beam work properly.

Is it a big job ? I could maybe manage a bit of basic wiring but anything more in depth is out of my comfort zone

I am not sure. I only know a vcds trick for cars with start/stop. For cars with a hardwired system it's a tad more complicated. You will need to re-wire a relay. It's not super difficult...
How it should be done exactly is written somewhere on the German forum.

For anyone who wants to do so.
Once installed the twin headlights (6R or 6C) in 6R non Bluemotion:
with this new wire
you have to do this:
example 1 (model year A,B,C):
Note: If your 6R is 'model year A' it's possible that the violet/grey wire be yellow color.
example 2 (model year D,E):

That looks simple enough, I am assuming plugs etc are the same, I'll see which lights they are when they turn up, I now have a sneaking suspicion they are the twin h7 from the 6r will it be the same method to the wiring ?
