Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit a 2014 Instrument cluster in to a 2012 Polo? I appreciate that it would need coded just wondering if it will physically fit and whether the plug(s) are the same.

could you specify 2014 cluster? since there are both 6c and 6r polos from that year

The 2014 cluster is from the Face Lift part no: 6C0920940A. The speedo and Rev counter are now separated by pronounced Chrome bezels and the perspex cover is in 3 sections rather than the single cover on our 2012 Polo. As a minimum I am hoping that the internals are the same and I can swap the front facias in the event that it doesn't physically fit. Just keen to have a multi dot display and there seems to be a lack of the "older" instrument cluster with multi dot available.

Ah well was worth a try- is it also different from an electronics perspective?

yes exactly, the polo 6r cluster is the golf 5 platform, the polo 6c cluster is the golf 7 platform. completely different, unfortunately

Depending which engine you have though, there is the 6R BlueGT and GTI clusters. They're only really suitable for the petrols, as the redline is too high for the diesels, but it's still an option and can be retrofitted. There's also the cluster from the Amarok, which needs more changes for a Polo but has the right redline for a TDI.
