Has anyone ever took these of on the sides of a mk5. I got the front and back of, which was a lot easier than what i had imagened.

But once i tried the sides, hoping they were the same. But they arent, they are on with double sided foam tape, So what i want to know is, If anyone has taken them right off and is there any clips or holes gonna be left cos i instead of painting them i might keep them off and try to get all the glue off.

I can get good glue remover from my work so hopefully it wont take to long. I dont under stand why they would have holes behind it, the Double sided foam tape seems to be strong enough.

But what the hell they are coming off this weekend. I will post to say weather they are staying off or being painted and put back on.

Problem with doing that is matching the paint. Im only average at painting, So i dont really feel to confident doing that.

Figured out that the roof strips come of easy as well so they are also on the "to be done list"

So far on the list i have: Side bump strips, Roof strips, Radio antena base, Front splitter and possible the 3 grills at the bottom of the front bumper. Hopefully if the weather is ok i can get these done this weekend and get the pics posted

only way to fill hole on bumper WELL and for them to not crack is to plastic weld, and that is EXPENSIVE and time consuming. I was quoted about 300-400 per bumper. A days work a piece..... £30 an hour....

Its the doors ones i was talking about not the bumpers, Couldnt i just use cataloy and rub t back. Since there is holes, i might just put them back on.

when you removed ur front bump strips and back did they have any holes and did u need 2 do any extra work to make them neater?

The front and back came off really easy using a flat screwdriver. Yes it did leave holes.

What do you mean making them neater :?:

Oh sorry, If you wanted to smoothe them off flush then it would require some cataloy or something cos they actually go into the bumper so it would have to be filled.
