Best to Google installing a turbo boost gauge, lots of advice there.

Wiring is simple, a power supply and earth and a live feed from the lighting circuit.

The most difficult part will be the plumbing, you need to cut the vacuum pipe and securely insert a tee piece to feed the gauge. The pipe from the tee piece then has to pass through the bulkhead to be connected with the gauge. Not the easiest task as you have to avoid kinks and chaffing and find a way through all the stuff that lives behind the dash.

There are gauges that use an electronic sender under the bonnet that communicates by wire with the dash gauge. I've never been able to source one from a trustworthy manufacturer at a reasonable cost. You may be able to adapt the system from a car that has a gauge as standard equipment but that will require a level of technical skill that would probably mean you would not be asking for a guide, forgive me if I've got that wrong.

It's a reasonably complex procedure to safely and reliably fit a gauge that provides little useful information for a road tune engine but it's a bit of fun and it impresses your mates and who can put a price on that?

Ive managed to do the plumbing part but tonight will be the wiring part. Never done wiring before on a car so i think my lack of knowledge and experience is putting me
Off it lol.

Yeah at the end of the day its not that useful but its abit of fun for me

Best of luck with the wiring, do it a bit at a time and check as you go, you'll be okay providing you disconnect the battery after you have identified your live feed. I'd suggest you put a few beers in the fridge first.

I like your comment about fun, I started motoring before the 70 mph limit was introduced, traffic was light and you could buy 20 litres of fuel for a quid. Cars were slower and didn't hold the road very well but you could slide and drift all over the place at low speeds and still keep hold of your licence.

I'm all for anything that injects a bit of fun, that probably explains why I've never grown up!

Was life better then? For a multitude of reasons probably not.
