If your car is a 65 plate, then it should be a Polo 6c. The 6c when it was 'launched' in 2014 was marketed by VW as the new Polo and it replaced the 6r. Essentially the 6c was a facelift of the 6r model, which was an all new model when launched in 2008/2009. To the uninitiated, they may not spot the differences between the 6r and 6c.
Main differences between the facelifted 6c and the 6r are some minor cosmetic changes to the exterior (bumpers, headlights and the rear light clusters), tweaks to the interior (new infotainment systems, and I believe there were minor changes to some instrument clusters), and mechanical changes such as the introduction of some new engine units.
Afraid I don't know whether a stage 1 map to a 1.0 Polo will make much difference. However, as your car will still be under warranty, be aware that going to stage 1 will invalidate the warranty in relation to those parts of the car affected by the remap.
