Hi

I have a 57 plate VW Polo. It's a 70ps and was first Registered in 2007. It's a type Mk4 & 9N.

I have tried a few USB phone charger dongles, all plugged into the cigarette lighter.

None of them ever deliver enough current to my Samsung S4 phone for it to charge, though it knows it is supposed to be charging because the phone bleeps the "charging" bleep correctly when I plug it in.

Is the current to the cigarette lighter limited ?
(I find that hard to believe as the thing no doubt would glow if I ever used it)
or
can someone recommend a wiring regieme/ charger that will work

Get a charger that delivers 2.1 amps or higher and the problem should go away

buy a decent charger

I had the same problem, I was using a long curly charging cable that was also thin gauge wire, it came with the charger. I replaced it with a short thicker cable, used same charger, and my phone is fully charged in no time.

I use a stand-alone charger. Everything works, nothing prevents) I am pleased))
