Just been quoted over £200 to get the code for this..... I really fancy it but it's rather steep. One thing that is holding me back, is whether you can use it wirelessly. Those that have it, does it have to be wired? If so, I might pass.

It's absolutely brilliant and completely worth it. Much better than just having Bluetooth for calls, plus you get proper satnav.

Apple has said that they support wireless yet there are no products on the market that can do it wirelessly and Apple blocked VW from showing a wireless version at the Paris Motor Show the other week.

Ok. Need to really consider this. I just know having the wire there will annoy me. My OCD.

Cheers for the reply.

Buy a really short black lightning cable so it blends in more and just sit the phone in as up holder so it's tidy?

Exactly this.

I bought one of these:

You can't notice it is plugged in and I leave it in the cup holder.

I think the cable might be cheaper than the BM. Although you never know with Apple.

Let's have some pic guys of yours when connected ;-)

Does anyone even have a neat holder they use?

I'm definitely more tempted reading this, but, I just read that it doesn't support what's app. Is this right? That could really suck, can't remember last time someone sent me a text instead of using what's app.

With iOS 10 you can use siri to send WhatsApp messages, including through carplay. At present siri cannot read you your WhatsApp messages though - this may come later. The number of apps supported is limited, but it's great for maps/music/podcasts/calls

To be honest when you're driving a car you don't want that many distractions = too many apps.

Is this on a 2015 model?

No, it’s not wireless. Phone needs to be connected by cable to the USB port in front of the gear lever.

I don’t have it in my car - a 2016 model. If I did, I’d probably only use it for Google maps or Waze, but with the type of journeys I do (pretty much all local journeys), I rarely need sat nav either.
