Hi,

I'm Olivier from The Netherlands and I picked up my '12 candy white Polo 6R GTi last Friday. It has got only 27.000 km and has xenon, pano roof, satnav and 17" Detroits.

I will try to keep it as OEM as possible. Already mounted a gloss black WRC rear diffuser and a red Golf Mk VII GTi rear GTI logo. Will fit gloss black WRC mirrors soon and now thinking about gloss black 17" VW "Motorsport" wheels for the winter.

After a few days of ownership I think this quote from "hornmeister" that I came across on the forum sums it all up:

"Mild mannered about town and bonkers if you need it to be."

Looking to keep my car fully OEM. So bought these 17" VW Motorsport wheels for the winter season.

Nice choice of winter wheels Olivier; they should look good on a candy white GTI.

I have VW Motorsport wheels in anthracite colour on my GTI and I keep them on the car all year round as I don't particularly like diamond cut alloy wheels - they're susceptible to white-worm corrosion and expensive to refurbish if they get scuffed. My diamond cut alloys are in storage, and will go back on the car when I eventually sell it.

Thank you! I have the same problem with my Detroits around the centercaps.

Today the car has been lowered around 20 mm with Eibach springs and the wheels and tires have been changed to winter setup. Also, had the wheel hubs resprayed with a black finish, as they were a bit rusty.
