As the weather gets worse I've notice my 2016 Polo Gti getting mad condensation on the inside of all the windows. The stuff on the front screen is shockingly hard to remove
any one else had this to contend with ? I've had lots of cars and never seen it so thick. Is it a VW thing this is my first VW. cheers

I don't think it's just a VW thing; there's lots of general (not VW specific) information on the internet relating to this issue, and some of it is specific to other manufacturers vehicles.
One school of thought is that keeping your air con on dehumidifies the air in your car so reduces or eliminates the condensation issue. I keep mine on all year round and don't have a problem with condensation build up, although I do garage my car most nights, so it's sheltered from the worst of the weather. Keeping your inside car windows really clean can also help improve matters.
Other possible causes; damp clothing in the car, faulty door / sun roof seals, damp carpets from wet shoes, wet pollen filter. On one of the VW Golf forums, a number of members have recommended using a Pingi dehumidifier bag (I've seen these on Amazon). They're cheap to buy, pretty effective at eliminating condensation and when they become saturated, can be dried out in the microwave and re-used. I've not used one personally, but for less than £10, maybe worth a try.

I used to get it quite a lot and it was a pain waiting for the heating to kick in and demist the windscreen.
I just use these cheap dehumidifying bags you can buy in most discount stores (Poundland etc.) Usually a pack of 2/3 and once the little gels become soft it's time to buy some more. They usually last a month and I just keep them in the glovebox. If it's a very cold night and I know there will be a lot of condensation I just put them on the dash. They have helped quite a lot. Don't expect to walk out to a condensation free car haha but it will help
