1.2 TSI Exhaust Options

I've recently been looking to upgrade my exhaust in my 1.2 TSI 105HP and cant seem to find many options. The only one i found was a supersprint system which costs over £1k which is just insane.

Reading through the previous threads, some people have said that the GTI exhaust will blot on to the 1.2 TSI model with no issues. If thats the case i was thinking of getting this system:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Milltek-SSXVW ... SwyQtVnT6q

Should i go for this system or are there any other options available for me?

Go for Friedrich. They are cheap, well made and free choice of tips

Sounds good too

Do these exhausts help performance as well or are they just for the sound.

No idea... they are 2.5", so they can easily flow 250-300hp

Careful not to assume that the bigger the pipe size the greater the power. There are many factors at work, go beyond the optimum and all round performance may suffer.

How do you work out the optimum? Difficult and hit and miss without a rolling road dynometer and a good selection of exhaust systems.

Best bet is to look at the most highly regarded systems on sale and assume they know what they are doing, then cross your fingers!

Yeah most systems use a 2.5" pipe so it should be ok. Just not sure if i want to go with the Friedrich systems since it only looks like a muffler, I'm looking to get a catback exhaust.

What exhaust did you end up going for? I am also currently looking for one.

I went with a custom cat back exhaust from Fastlane Styline in Romford, sounds very bassy and gives off a few pops as well. Cost me a 370 quid tho. Imo it was worth it XD

That’s cool! How loud is it? Also are there any good backboxes to get if I don’t do a full cat back system?
