Cluster not working

Hi,
Ive just taken out my black box, policy has ended, so ive plugged in both of the wire harnesses that are in the back of the cluster refitted straight away (my fault) didnt test it, and now my indicators work, high beams and thats it, no lights come up, and no gauges or tacs work??
So has the black box used one of my cluster earths or red wire, and now thats the reason? But all back lights work e.g. Needles, numbers, time, mileage etc.
Thanks in advance.

It has a number of earths. You likely have a damaged cable
What wires did it tap into?

Well i didn't tape up any, because the 2 wire harnesses, just plugged straight in to the cluster. So no wires were exposed, only the black box ones.

So shall i take out the black box wires then connect all the normal wires back together again? Seems the only logical way?

Correct
You need to undo what theyve done properly.

Ok, so they have soldered all the wires together, so if i cut, each side close, and connect them back up nicely, with some tape, should work?

Yes i can see
Get some proper insulating tape in any case - duck tape isnt a good choice!
If the clocks do nothing, its the feed to the clocks thats suffering
The high beam and indicators is fed from a seperate feed.

Ok, i'll get some insulation tape, and how could they be suffering? Not a good enough connection maybe?...
And the speedo needle doesn't work, or fuel gauge or thermostat, and rev counter. And back lights all work.

Is it two plugs on the back of the clocks or one?
Have you checked your fuses?
