i wired mine into the 12v cig lighter fuse, with an adapter that came with my next base dash cam. i ran the wire without removing any trim. You should find that you can pull the rubber trim round the door away enough to push the cable in.

the hardest bit was getting the cable through a small hole that was already in the fuse box (under the steering wheel, just pull off the panel).

i can sort photo's if you need them.

Interesting. I leave my dash cam cable dangling over the touchscreen and it gets in the way.
I'd like photos please :)

You can buy a kit off eBay so you don't have to use the 12 volt cig charger, I'm putting my cam next to my rear view mirror and using the interior light as its power source :)

i don't know which fuses are for you dashcams but if it's the 15A ones i'd highly recommend you change them to 5A tops

Well it's the same fuse what's used for the cigarette lighter what it plugs into

that allows for things to be plugged into the cigarette lighter socket

but being as you are coming off the fuse box directly i'd fuse your dash cam supplies to 5A tops

just get a couple of 5A fuses of the size you have and stick them in the ones for your dash cams (i'm guessing you have separate supply for front and rear cams)

ebay link

So keep the original 15amp fuses that I pulled out of the fuse box then put 5amps onto the piggy back for the cameras

so what is the other one for? you have 2 add a fuse things installed

yeah whatever fuse was already installed stick that back in for the original circuit

then install 5A fuse for the camera supply
