Instrument cluster swap Polo 6C

Hi guys this is a nice simple question. I want to change my instrument cluster on my 1.2 polo match 6C. Reason being Volkswagen ship some of their polos with 20mph increments with mph and kph, which for us guys in the UK especially in london, is pretty useless as it misses out some of the most important speeds 30,50,70.. there is a dashed line between obviously but it isn't always obvious exactly how fast you are going at a quick glance, so I usually use Digital Speedo in the centre screen... The part number is 6C0920940C and looks like this
Some of the polo 6Cs Shipped with a true 10 mph only increment type speedometer and I have sourced one off of the same model 6C same engine size same DSG and same year of car just with a different Speedo part 6C0920950A and looks like this
Will it be plug and play? I've seen posts on here regarding coding but these were retrofits from other models of polo.
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I take the plunge and buy.

It will need coding as they are component protected and will also need all keys recoding

Why not just swap the plates? They probably come off easily when you open the cluster.

Hi nopixar
If your just looking for 10 mph only increment type speedometer, I might have this available at much cheap cost then buying a new cluster from a VW dealer or eBay.
PM me for more information

Hi,
i am thinking of swapping the instrument cluster on my Polo 6c 1.0 MPI. The reason is to have the cluster with the needles for temperature and fuel, and to have the full MFD
The code of the existing cluster is 6c920730G. Can i fit the 6C0920740 ? There are a few different versions of that cluster (A, C, E), with one is the suitable for my car?
Of course the swapping is going to take place by a person who knows the procedure.
Right now i am doing a research for the suitable cluster.
Thank you in advanc for your help

yes, please confirm with the person that will fit your cluster about the possibilities. possibly you need to set the mileage to 0km and perhaps you need a cluster with a matching key. be aware and check this. but in principle, there should be no limitations to this idea.

Thank you for your answer. Yes i should check the procedure and the possibilities with the person who is going to do the swap (if i decided of course)
Right now i am searching for the suitable cluster. Could you confirm that those 3 versions of cluster (A, C, E) are in fact all suitable for my car?
I can confirm those clusters have Km/h and Petrol rpm. But i don't know what is the difference between them. The ETKA says that are for different production time.

Probably SW versions and perhaps some speed ranges for GTI and redline area etc.

Good day to all.
I bought a used cluster with code 6C0920740C. Is it from the same production period as my car.
I hope it could be fitted without any problem. We will see.

Looking at the pic you posted of your new cluster, it still doesn't have a 50 or 70 on it?
Wasn't this the reason you were changing it in the first place?

This is a kmh cluster, I don't think they ever have odd multiples of 10 in them above 40 km/h.

No, this is not the reason i decided to change the cluster. The main reason is the 2 new instruments the new one has and the LCD screen that can provide more information.
BTW, i am still not change the cluster.
