problem with Led Headlights MKV 6R 1.4

Hello,
I have replaced my stock headlight with LED light "Rings and turn signals" and add Osram Resistors for both rings and turn signals to to handle the CANBUS error.
but I still face an issue: the left side is ok but the right side when I switch on the right turn signal with the low or high beam the light error is turned on.
if only fogs and rings are on and I switch on the right turn signal then no issues at all!!!!!

couple of days a go I noticed something else that is so weird, when only rings are on and fogs are OFF, when using the turn signals the same side fog light is switched on : :| but later on that stopped !!

any idea how to handle that issue?!!!

below link for the new LED headlights

These models of headlights are unknown to me, however it seems that different models have been manufactured for different markets. It is strange that it is necessary to add resistances. Maybe these headlights you bought were manufactured for the first 6R that were sold in China (its electrical configuration is somewhat different from others 6R)

For example, for  these headlamps it is not necessary to add such resistors.

An excessive consumption is detected in the Right headlamp. Have you modified the ground wire of that headlamp?
Take pictures of the wires where you added the resistors, it is important that we see the color of the wires.
Do you have VCDS or another diagnostic tool to make an Autoscan from your 6R?

Please provide as much information as possible about those headlights you purchased. Installation Guide or any other information.

No problem. It is the function of Static Cornering light. (user manual)

The resistors "rings & turn signal" are connected to ground wire
Both sides are connected in the same way and both resistors are connected in the connection in the ground wire.
Do you recommend to make them separate on the ground wire?

No connections or modifications on the headlamp at all

If you like that type of headlights the better solution is to buy them new ones from the above link, in no case I recommend installing additional resistors to avoid the warnings on the dash.

Having said that, there could be several more reasonable solutions than your current resistors (info :?:).

For example, install 16w bulbs (instead of 5w) in the taillights for side/parking lights ('OEM solution'), remove the current resistors, and install new resistors (with a lower value) intercalated in the turn signal wires. FYI slot 9 in headlight connectors.
You'll gain in visibility in the rear side of the car and perhaps would avoid the warning in the dash, however it remains a bad solution because the resistors have to be in a refrigerated/ventilated place.

I do not know what would be the ideal value of the new resistors, you have to do a measurement of the actual consumption of LEDs for the indicators with a multimeter. And do the calculations so that the total consumption of LEDs (front turn signals only) + resistors is close to 21w.

There could be another solution with VCDS, but it remains a bad solution due to the existence of such resistors.

Hi Ciclo

They are exactly the same I have already installed and working fine with left side without any errors

Hi samehtolba
On any car is virtually impossible that the electric consumption be exactly the same in both sides even from factory, for many reasons. (length of wires, bulbs, etc)

Are you absolutely sure that the resistors are for 21w bulbs and not for  50w bulbs? only to be sure. But the question is, why did you have to install those resistors? What is the reason? Do you have installation instrucctions for those headlights? (link to)

FYI:
-The turn signals (indicators) on one side of your 6R are powered by the same wire coming from the BCM.
also
-The parking/side lights (your headlights 'rings' + taillights bulbs) on one side of your 6R are powered by the same wire coming from the BCM.

Therefore, any alteration that you make in these four wires (for headlights, taillights, and exterior mirrors) have its repercussion in BCM.
Did you change the taillights too? (or bulbs?)

In any case, you have to install the resistors in series (in the power wire) and not in parallel (by the ground wire).
By other hand, BCM sotfwares are specific to each car within the same model, so the solutions don't have to be the same. This is especially applicable to the 6R (many different electrical configurations around the world).

VCDS?

The resistors are for ok and the same in both side.

No I have not changed any thing in the taillights.

The ground wire of the ring and turn signal of both resistors are connected together in the ground wire of the car

i don't know how many wires go to each lamp but the resistors should go across the + and - of the lamp as close to it as possible

so you don't get any funny current flows through other lamps causing errrors

Perfect thanks Ciclo, that would be very helpful.
I will find a good workshop and will keep you posted.

More info (another clue )
L132 - Front passenger side turn signal repeater bulb (original). LED
Image series

- Avoids the bug in the BCM/Dashboard and allows the diagnosis in case of broken LEDs. All in one.

Now imagine all the tutorials and videos that are uploaded to the net (around the world) and all the people who install resistors in parallel +/- to avoid lamp failure on the dash or fast blinker...

It is true that is necessary to have in consideration some details (parameters) to install resistors or other electronic parts... but, why you have to do things to half way :?: ... in full it's better, I guess... and with the right parts installed will be even better. OEM parts.

To avoid:

I started to worry [emoji51][emoji15]
Do resistors cause such disaster????

It is possible with the right conditions. Poor installation, high external temperatures that add to the resistor temp, etc ... additional resistors must be away from any flammable part.
That's why it's best to install original parts or right parts.

I guess that in Egypt the weather it's hot often.
