rcd310 to rcd510 straight swap ? or need vcds coding.

hello, currently swamped my rcds 310 to a rcd510. however i keep hearing a strange beeping/bell noise when i turn car off or whenever i lock the car. i believe it is coming from the speakers and it is the radio?
i read somewhere the noise is telling me there is a short abd draining battery if im correct? it is only ever after the radio replace im hearing this? does this mean i need to code the radio or nothing to do with the radio.

It depends on the age of the car. It does not normally need any coding - should be plug and play. Battery drain can happen on early models (not sure of dates) and needs a replacement CAN gateway and VCDS coding. You would know if you had battery drain as it flattens the battery quite quickly. Not sure what the noise is. Not heard that before when doing the swap.

the main difference is Sat Nav but their are others

Rns510 is very different to the rcd510. Main differences are higher res screen, sat nav, built in hard drive, faster processor, reverse camera support to name but a few

In a polo 6r you're fine, no coding requires and the 6c is a different platform.
