After recently buying a bluegt I've had a small issue which happens sometimes quite often and other times it wont happen for a while. but the bluetooth touch display seems to keep restarting itself, i've tried resetting it to factory settings, taking the screen itself off the holder, but when I do that it will start muting the radio every 30 seconds ish (different everytime) and will say my phone has connected. so it doesn't seem to be the touch display itself as something keeps restarting still. has anyone had this issue? or at least know what it could be?

I did have the car booked in to have it looked at but then it starting working again for like a week so cancelled the appointment as they probably would have given it back to me saying nothings wrong. but problem has recently started again. thanks in advance

The unit is basically a Bury CC9060, VW UK for whatever reason decided to put this in earlier Polos instead of OEM bluetooth.

Its a good system, had it years back in a Mk5 Golf but it would occasionally muck about.

Sounds to me like the control unit may have become duff, or it might need a firmware update. If its broken, it may prove cheaper to go to a good car audio shop and have the Bury CC9068 (the latest version I believe) installed as may work out cheaper than getting VW to replace it. Is basically the same thing and would work the same way.

The alternative would be to have it removed entirely and look into getting an OEM bluetooth module retrofitted as it may be similar cost.

Unless of course the car is still under warranty in which case Id assume whoever provided the car ought to replace the unit at their cost.

hi, thanks for the information. I put this post up a while ago and since then ive disconnected my phone from it and it hasn't restarted anymore. i think there is something on my phone thats causing it to do that, after alot of searching someone else solved there problem by removing any email addresses in there contacts or something like that, but mine doesnt have any in it anyway. so i guess ill just have to play about with it or just not use it

What phone do you have? And what software version is it running?

I have a samsung J1, by software version do you mean the phone or the tpk unit?
