The new pump has only been installed!

Air lock is a possibility I've seen it takes a while to sort itself out.

Turn the steering full lock left to right 10 times with the engine running and the fluid cap off, then recheck the level

I think I did this when the pump was first fitted, didn't turn it 10 times though.

Couldn't get the bloody cap off the pump where the fluid is! I didn't have the same size screwdriver as the mechanic when he fitted it, so I can't check levels

Rattling noise is coming from the pulley being bent (when I scraped the curb last month) so its obviously come loose. Power steering fluid level is fine.
