EPC Light/loss of power

so ive recently removed and replaced my 1.0 from my car... exactly the same engine went back in that cane out but i now have an intermitent EPC light coming up it also looses all power when this happens almost like limp mode but worse. earlier today i slammed my bonnt ahut and it cut out aswell hahah i also removed the loom during the engine removal and cut the 4 wires that run into the car (black, white, blue, brown) presuming these are for fuel pump or something? ive choc blocked them back together... not a lot to go on i know but any ideas chaps?
