Which bulb do I need?

A small story for you

Have had a Polo GTI 6R in candy whit, with no additional extras for last 14 months, enjoyed filling it up with oil just as much as I did petrol, however a lovely lady decided that my poor car deserved a head on collision last week which rendered it a Category B total loss!

Me and the mrs are alive, just have whiplash ... but thankful !

Anyways, have found a 13 plate 23k mile GTI with all the extras, and in the bi xenon headlamps fitted from factory, I couldn't help but notice you have the LED DRLS, then the xenon bit, then a halogen bulb? Then the indicator underneath

Can anybody tell me what the halogen bulb is for? Looks like a H4 or a h7, is it for sidelight?

I am looking to get my upgrade bulbs before picking up my replacement car in a week or so, so I can fit them straight away.

Also are there known good working LED indicator bulbs for these and known working zLed number plate bulbs?

My previous number plate bulbs started flickering after a few months with each set I fitted

The static cornering lights are H7, but I would not recommend to fit LED. The light pattern is quite bad with LED.

So they are cornering lights (on the inside of the bi xenon)?

Just a thought, could that halogen bulb be for "flashing" as HIDs do not like being used for that, my wife's 2015 Polo SEL has LED headlights which seem comparable in performance to HIDs, I have HIDs in my 2011 S4 and had them in my previous 2000 Passat 4Motion and they were excellent.

Edit:- one thing though, I've never checked how my S4 achieves the "flashing" function - yet! (the old 2000 Passat only had HIDs for dipped beam and halogen for main beam, so it used the halogen main beam for flashing as per normal)

That could be a possibility, although flashing could be part of the xenon unit if it's just a shutter opening to reveal more light?
