Intermittent power

Hi there im new to the forum and my gti feels almost like it has clutch slip but im sure its not as it has a heap of power then hardly any then another leap of power?

With clutch slip the RPM increases but the speed doesn’t
Has it got an up to date service history including the fuel filter?

Thanks for the reply and i dont think so as i have just bought the car, i am planning on changing the filters this weekend do you think this will help?

Id do a full service - oil & filter, air filter, sparks, fuel filter, clean the throttle body out and see what happens then.
